As the founder of Bodie Integrative Health & Wellness, I combine high-impact tutoring with holistic health coaching to support the whole student. With a background in strategic planning, relationship-building, and leadership, I am passionate about developing initiatives that integrate wellness into education. Integrating health and wellness practices into tutoring helps students build emotional resilience, reduce stress, and improve focus, all of which contribute to better academic performance. When students feel emotionally supported and have tools to manage anxiety or stress, they are more engaged and able to retain and apply academic content. Additionally, wellness practices such as mindfulness and stress reduction techniques enhance cognitive function, making it easier for students to concentrate and perform at their best.

We use a holistic approach that combines several proven frameworks to address the academic and emotional needs of the student. For academic support, we incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) aligned to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to ensure lessons are accessible and responsive to individual learning styles. Additionally, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is integrated into each session to help students develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and interpersonal skills. This approach ensures that each child’s emotional and cognitive development is supported, promoting both academic success and well-being.

Each tutoring session is personalized to align with the specific needs, goals, and challenges of the student. We begin by assessing the student's academic performance, emotional needs, and wellness habits to create an individualized learning plan. This plan is regularly updated based on the student’s progress and feedback from parents and teachers. For example, if a student is struggling with time management, we may incorporate stress-reduction strategies like mindfulness, while also working on academic goal-setting and study skills. The holistic nature of this approach allows for a more tailored experience that supports the child’s overall growth.

We provide regular progress updates that include both academic and emotional development. Progress is tracked through detailed reports that highlight improvements in academic skills, emotional resilience, and wellness practices. We also offer actionable feedback and strategies that parents and educators can use to reinforce the student's growth at home and in school. In addition, we maintain open lines of communication with teachers and parents, ensuring that we’re all working together to support the student’s success and adjusting the plan as needed.

We work closely with teachers and school staff to understand the student's academic performance, learning preferences, and any challenges they may be facing. We also meet regularly with parents to ensure alignment between the home and tutoring environment. This communication ensures that all parties are on the same page and allows me to adjust strategies based on feedback from school or home. By creating a comprehensive support network, we ensure that the student receives the best possible care in both academic and wellness areas, leading to more sustainable success.
